Mr. and Mrs. Edwards were the longtime owners of The Lexington Restaurant, a popular eating establishment located in Lexington, VA. The restaurant was open for 48 years and was a well-known community meeting place. They were also co-owners of the original Redwood Restaurant, which closed in 1968 due to the construction of Interstate 64. Mrs. Edwards worked at Suzy's Gift Shop and A Corner of Lexington for many years. This auction features a great variety of items, including a utility trailer, zero-turn lawn mower, tools, oriental rugs, lamps, decorative items from Baldwin Brass, Lenox, Virginia Metalcrafters, and prints from P. Buckley Moss, Queena Stovall, and Linda Patrick. In addition to much more, there is a wonderful assortment of mid-century modern furniture and decorative items. AUCTION CLOSING: Bidding will begin closing Thursday, November 12, at 7:00 PM at a rate of 4 lots per minute with a 1-minute auto extension. If a bid is placed during the final minute on any lot, that lot will automatically extend by one minute to allow additional bidding. PREVIEW: Wednesday, November 11, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 40 Avalon Lane, Lexington, VA 24450. All bidders are encouraged to attend the preview and inspect items before bidding. PICKUP: Friday, November 13, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Winning bidders will receive an additional email following the auction with instructions to schedule their pickup time.
